Five elementary schools showed improvement in their academic performance according to the latest Texas Education Agency accountability ratings. These schools had previously been underperforming.

The overall rating for the school district slipped, however, dropping from a B to a C. This change was reflected in a decrease from an 80 to a 76 rating.

Further information on the ratings and the schools' performance can be found through the Texas Education Agency or other sources, including the Denton Record-Chronicle.
